Eat The Rich Vest Pattern
Yarn weight: Aran
Gauge: 15 st x 22 rows = 4x4” in stockinette
Needles: US 8 (5mm) and US 6 (4mm)
Chest circumference of 28-60”
This is a cozy colorwork vest worked in panels for the body with the words added in duplicate stitch before the pieces are seamed. Short sleeves and a collar are then added by picking up the stitches.
This is a beginner friendly pattern that is accessible to all! You do not need to have done duplicate stitch before to work up this pattern.
There is one main color and one (or more, to taste) contrasting colors for the added words.
For this sweater I knit with Lion Brand’s Wool Ease yarn. You can use any aran/worsted yarn that gets you gauge! I am a loooooose knitter so if you are a normal or tight knitter expect to size up in needles to match gauge or go up a weight class for your yarn.
Estimated yardage is as follows:
You will need approx 480(580, 640, 650, 660)(675, 685, 700, 710) yds of main color. However this is a great project to use up scraps (for the ribbing, colors, entire back panel in stripes, etc..) so you can absolutely get creative on your colors if you run out of yarn!
The body of the sweater is done without shaping, so measure from the largest part of your torso if this is not your bust. This pattern was written with 2” of positive ease built in.
XS(S, M, L, XL)(1XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL) for a bust circumference of 28(32, 36, 40, 44) (48, 52, 56, 60) inches or 71(81, 91, 101, 111)(121, 131, 141, 151) cm
