Dreidel Mittens
Dreidel Mittens
Yarn: Qing Fibers Soufflé or light fingering weight equivalent in 100g per colorx
Needles: US 1
Gauge: 36 st x 41 rows = 4x4” stockinette
This is a fun colorowork mitten pattern for the adventurous beginner and beyond! The design features two dreidels on the backs of the mittens and dreidel rules on the palms. The mittens are knit in the round with colorwork added as you go. The thumb is picked up and completed after the mitten is finished. I have included a video tutorial to how to catch floats while knitting mittens.
This was designed in collaboration with Qing Fibers. You can use any of their fingering weight yarns to knit these mittens. You'll need 100g of yarn of each color.
The colorwork is represented in two charts (one for each hand). The charts are 80 stitches wide and 87 stitches tall. You'll start with 70 st for the cuff then increase to 80 st for the hand. If you are knitting for slightly smaller hands or larger hands (ex. teen hands or larger men's hands) you will want to go up or down a needle size. The gauge as represented will give you a women's M/L / Men's S/M mitten pre-felting. (I don't felt because I am lazy! So my finished mittens will stay a M/L women's size.)
